Rapiscan Systems,Inc. designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products range from hand held metal detectors to Real Time Tomography used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for people, weapons, explosives, drugs, money, and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team! This individual will will possess significant accounting experience and outstanding reconciliation and analysis skills. The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the monthly close process, handling a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. It will be critical to this individuals success that they be a versatile team member with the ability to reconcile and analyze complex accounts in an expeditious manner.***This job is hybrid with the expectation of working onsite in Torrance 4 days per week.***Responsibilities:Key contributor to the monthly closing process to ensure an accurate and timely close.Maintain Month-end close checklist.Maintain fixed asset sub-ledger, including periodic FA impairment testing.Prepare monthly allocations for the Detection business.Assist in managing Detection U.S. R&D entity.Prepare miscellaneous month-end journal entries, including leases and accruals.Reconcile intercompany balances with internal financial colleagues.Prepare various balance sheet reconciliations.Assist in preparing and distributing monthly internal reports on a timely basis.Assist in year-end audits and quarterly reviews by preparing schedules and any other necessary data.Work with shared-services accounting to ensure AP transactions are properly posted, and the AP ledger is closed monthly.Participate in all financial and internal control compliance audits to ensure a strong SOX-compliant control environment.Support Assistant Controller with special projects.Uphold the companys core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.Demonstrate behavior consistent with the companys Code of Ethics and Conduct.It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, or commensurate experience highly desired.At least 5 years comparable experience preferred.Understanding of GAAP and basic accounting concepts.Strong GL accounting background including thorough knowledge of revenue recognition principles. manufacturing/standard costing and project accounting.Ability to multitask and perform against challenging deadlines.Strong communication skills.Outstanding reconciliation and analytical skills.Strong Excel user with a high level of proficiency in other MS Office products required.Experience with Microsoft D365, Hyperion, HFM and FDM are desired but not required.Must organize/ prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects and function effectively as a small team member.#LI-onsitePlease review our benefits here: Life at OSIThe specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location and date of hire.
