POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Manager is responsible for the financial and operating performance of Sports Facilities Management, LLC. The objectives for this position include:Optimizing overall profitabilityCreating a culture of accountability which supports the organizational valuesMeeting or exceeding annual growth objectivesFacilitating interdepartmental collaborationEmployee retention and staff developmentDevelopment of employee and operating policiesImplementation of major business initiativesImplementation of solutions and systems that support the seven areas above.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Oversee the daily operations of the ice arena and convention centerAnalyze operations to evaluate performance of the company and its staff in order to meet objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy changeAppoint department heads or managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to themEstablish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments and sitesConfer with ownership, Sports Facilities Management advisors & support team, and staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problemsCoordinate the development and implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems, and other administrative control processesDirect and coordinate an organization's financial and budget activities in order to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiencyDirect human resources activities, including the approval of human resource plans and activities, the selection of directors and other high-level staff, and establishment and organization of major departmentsDirect, plan, and implement policies, objectives, and activities of organizations or businesses in order to ensure continuing operations, maximize returns on investments, and increase productivityImplement corrective action plans to solve organizational or departmental problemsPrepare and present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes and rulings, and other items affecting businesses or program servicesRepresent the organization and promote its objectives at official functions, or delegate representatives to do soServe as liaisons between organizations, shareholders, and outside organizationsAdminister programs for selection of any site location, potential construction needs, and provision of equipment and suppliesBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as sports teams, event organizers, and local businessesDirect and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with production, pricing, sales, and/or distribution of productsDirect and give strategic direction to all departmentsNegotiate or approve contracts and agreements with suppliers, distributors, federal and state agencies, and other organizational entitiesOrganize and approve promotional campaignsPrepare budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programsReview reports submitted by staff members in order to recommend approval or to suggest changesContinually research new technologies to increase efficiency within the businessSchedule and monitor continued training seminar for staff on various operational, safety, and legal responsibilitiesAny additional duties assigned by the VP of Venue ManagementMIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight responsibility of $1MM or greaterProven management and leadership experience in the food and beverage, recreational, and entertainment industryOperational knowledge of F&B, entertainment, and sport clubs as well as parties, corporate events, and teambuilding preferredPrior experience in contracting or overseeing others who have sold corporate sponsorships, birthday parties, corporate parties, tournaments, leagues, camps, fitness programming, and other related services preferredPrior experience managing marketing programsA minimum of 7 years of management experienceOperational knowledge of risk managementSkilled at identifying and creating opportunities to deliver revenue goalsSports programming and sports event operations expertise requiredBachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, related field, or equivalent experienceMust be able to work irregular shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays based on facility schedulesTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal travel as needed to trade shows, SFM leadership conferencesWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
