is seeking a

General Ledger Accounting Manager

who will play a key role in the Finance and Accounting team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this individual leads the accounting function, manages the monthly closing process, and ensures all internal controls documentation is maintained. GSE is looking for an individual able to work independently, effectively supervise staff, attentive to details, ability to identify and implement process improvements, and has strong Excel skills. This individual

must reside within a 120-mile radius of Columbia, Maryland .WE ARE NOT OPEN TO THIRD PARTY RECRUITERS.

Pay Range-

$110,000 to $120,000 annually, DOE.

Responsible for monthly close processReviews all GL entries and balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare and/or review monthly reporting package for US and International subsidiariesAssist in preparation of memorandums and working papers, as needed, in support of annual audit and in conjunction with complex accounting transactionsAssist with managing the Company's Accounts Payable (A/P) functionsSupervises staff accountant and work with the subsidiary accounting teams as neededIs a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processResearch and advise Corporate Controller of new accounting standards as applicableMaintains the internal controls RACM to ensure completeness and compliance with controlsEvaluate new leasing transactions under ASC 842 and maintain the lease schedulesContributes to the development of supervised staffPerforms other duties as assignedCompetencies:

Excellent organization skillsGreat attention to detail and an analytical acumenGood understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practicesAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple commitmentsExcellent knowledge of MS Office with a focus on ExcelFamiliarity with ERP systems (Oracle E-Business Suite r12 a plus)Experience with Private Equity reporting and corporate consolidations highly preferred but not requiredAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple commitmentsAbility to be a strong team playerStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical skillsProficient in MS ExcelHigh degree of professionalism and integrity with ability to handle confidential information appropriately

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Finance or Accounting, CPA highly preferred5+ years of relevant experience, including 2 or more years managing a team
