Come join our team and leave your mark in the history of science and technology that benefits humanity We are currently in need of an IT Help Desk Intern to provide technical support and assistance to employees using computer hardware, desktop applications, as well as printing or phone system hardware and software. The help desk intern will be the first point of contact with end-users and will use critical thinking skills to deal with internal and external resources. In addition to support duties, this role will involve creating, testing, and automating the deployment of end-user images, applications, and patching. This spring internship will run January to April / May 2025 and is on-site in Westerville, OH. Primary Duties Include: Systematic Troubleshooting Providing technical support for 200 end-users, including local, remote, and mobile users Properly identifying priority issues, and escalating accordingly Own, drive, and follow-up on end-user resolution Responsible for documentation of help desk procedures, end-user resolutions, and/or any support issues Installing, operating, and maintaining basic printer, phone, computer hardware and software applications Maintain confidentiality of information Other duties within the scope of the position as assigned Some afterhours support may be needed from time to time Qualified candidates will possess the following: Working towards an associates or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline OR pursuing an IT-related certification program Positive customer service driven attitude; understanding of customer support in an IT context Patience and curiosity for troubleshooting Effective verbal and written communication skill Lake Shore offers a work-life balance with challenging assignments, a focus on health and wellness, social activities, and community outreach.
