General Job Function:

The Staff Accountant communicates policy and procedure to the organization that supports accountability and proper performance of stewardship over CCM's assets. The staff accountant processes all transactional accounting information, performs general accounting functions, and provides internal and external customers with financial analyses and reports.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities

Processes transactional accounting data for assigned areas of responsibility. Areas of responsibility include, but not limited to, accounts payables, payroll, cash management, cash receipts, and petty cash.Prepares account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.Prepares journal entries and account analyses, as necessary, to ensure proper accountability and internal control of CCM's assets.Performs monthly close procedures to provide management with CCM financial results on a monthly basis.Provides internal and external customers with accounting support, including but not limited to reports, analyses, and manpower.Supports the museum's work in diversity, equity, access and inclusion and actively ensures that DEAI principles are upheld in all work with fellow staff, visitors, community and other external partners.Enthusiasm for learning and mastering new skills on an ongoing basis; willingness to be informed/certified/trained through institution-offered courses and to work within Diversity, Equity, Access, Inclusion (DEAI) frameworks and actively engage in learning about these frameworksPerform special projects, as necessary.Requirements

Position Qualifications

B.S. or B.A. in Accountancy or comparable experience5yrs experience A/R, A/P, journal entries, reconciliations without degree or 1-2 years accounting experience with degreeStrong Organizational SkillsStrong knowledge of accounting principles & basicsStrong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheetsStrong verbal and written communication skillsHigh value of ethics, dependability, and reliabilityPossess an equity mindset and cultural humilityPositive "can do" attitudeStrong teamwork values, cooperation, and professionalism are essential

Salary Range : $50,000-$55,000 per year.

Hours: This is a full-time/exempt position, working an average of 37.5 hours per week. This is a hybrid position with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.

This position is eligible for very competitive medical, dental, vision, Life, Long-term Disability, and Short-term Disability insurances, 401k after six months of service with matching contributions pending eligibility, as well as 14 days PTO and 12 Sick Days annually (accrued monthly).
