Volta is looking for an exceptional General Manager to be responsible for the overall success of our EV charging network in the Washington D.C. metro area. Success combines multiple factors that span the full breadth of Volta teams and includes: At Volta were on a mission to accelerate the adoption of the electric vehicle. Volta's award-winning charging stations benefit brands, consumers, and real-estate locations by providing valuable advertising space to businesses and convenient charging to drivers. Strategically located in places consumers already visit, Volta's chargers are currently the most used electric vehicle charging stations in the United States.**The Opportunity at Volta Charging*** Meeting financial performance metrics* Optimizing locations and network makeup* Maximizing station utilization* Improving regulatory positioning* Increasing driver and community engagementThis is a challenging role at Volta, requiring a diverse set of operational, analytical, marketing, community building, and leadership abilities.**In your first 90 days, you will*** Meet with key Volta teams to understand their function, how they work in a geographic network, and how they work with other internal and external teams. These teams include: Network Planning, Media Sales, Charging Solutions, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Product.* Spend time visiting and using Volta stations in your network. Engage with drivers and site hosts to learn about their charging experiences with Volta.* Start to engage with local jurisdictions in conjunction with Volta policy and legal efforts.* Engage with the Network Planning team in order to understand the vision for what we intend to build and provide detailed input based on your knowledge of the area.* Develop a network vision and growth plan in conjunction with other teams and start to track performance to that plan. This includes establishing key metrics and benchmarks specific to your geographic region that support broader company goals.* Start to synthesize market feedback for the Operations, Product, Marketing, and other business units.* Become conversant in Voltas media and charging solutions go-to-market strategy and start to engage in key customer conversations along with Account Executives.**After twelve months, you will have accomplished:*** You will be managing a network that is meeting financial targets* Be an expert in all aspects of your designated market. This includes both internal and external issues and you will have engaged and developed strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.* You will have succeeded in expanding Voltas regulatory and policy efforts and helped advance Volta installations in new jurisdictions.* You will have engaged with the local driving community and worked with the Marketing team to increase driver engagement and brand awareness in the network.* You have established a regular cadence for visiting Volta stations and site partners and are able to effectively bring this feedback to our Product and Driver Engagement teams in developing new and innovative offerings.* You have supported local Volta personnel in the area and used your knowledge and connections to overcome project challenges.* You will be viewed as the face of Volta in your area. As the leader of your market, you will have met with local officials, business owners, and drivers as a representative of Volta.**What you bring to Volta Charging:*** 10+ years of senior strategic operating experience in a fast-growth environment.* A deep knowledge of the local area - you have lived there, worked there, have a professional network, and are able to use those resources in this new role.* Strategic thinking and business expertise and are able to drive a P&L from both a big picture and execution perspective.* Experience leading, resourcing, and building teams in a matrix environment.
