LIFEGUARD 1
Department: Aquatics
Job Classification: Part Time
Supervised by: Aquatics Director/Assistant Director
Position Summary:
Under the Supervision of Aquatics Management lifeguards will ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Work ScheduleNights 5:00pm-8:00pm, Weekends 7:00am-5:45pm
Responsibilities & Duties:Maintain a high level of professionalismWill be rescue ready ( swimsuit, uniform, whistle, & personal protective equipment)Remain vigilant and act quickly in making rescues and rendering aidEnforce water safety standards (rules) and departmental regulationsActively participate in all in-service trainings and drillsExhibits excellent customer serviceMaintain a clean and safe work area, which may include monitoring pool chlorine levelsAssist supervisors as requestedProvide excellent customer service to all membersQualifications
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard; First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer; Waterfront Certifications.Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readinessHave an understanding of EAP proceduresPhysical Demands:
Good physical condition and strength.Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.Able to squat and bend at the waist
