Job Details
Responsibilities:As a Permanent Hybrid Receivables Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
1. Overseeing all aspects of the accounts receivable function including invoicing, collections, and reporting.2. Managing grant accounting, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements and deadlines.3. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.4. Ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with relevant accounting standards.5. Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.6. Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.7. Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate and understood.8. Participating in financial audits and implementing audit recommendations.9. Providing mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the non-profit sector.3. Demonstrated experience in grant accounting and accounts receivable.4. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting standards.5. Proficient in financial reporting and revenue recognition.6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.10. CPA designation or working towards it would be considered an asset.
