The Junior Staff Accountant oversees the general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.

Duties and responsibilitiesReconciles account balances and bank statements.Helps in preparation of general ledger journal entries, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation.Prepares, reviews and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements and summaries.Reviews financial data for accuracy, identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations.Assists with company cash flow analysis including but not limited to tracking cash flow activity, preparing reports, and analyzing information for management.Assists members of the AR and AP Departments with reporting and analysis to be provided to the Controller and Owners.Develops reporting and variance analysis.Assists with annual external reviews.Assist with related special projects as required.Take initiative to accomplish open tasks; be proactive and seek additional work when available.Maintain positive work relations; support teamwork and help coworkers accomplish team goalsListen and communicate respectfully with employees at all levels within the organization and outside vendors.Attendance: Maintain regular attendance and follow call out and time off procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.Comply with company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.The position includes all other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the Junior Staff Accountant or as may be assigned.Required QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent and/or a minimum of 2 years' experience.Proficient in accounting software, preferably NetSuite a plus.Experience with sales tax software (Avalara) a plus.High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent financial management skillsHigh ethical conduct.Project management skillsCollaboration skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Attention to detail and good organizational skills.Time management - Ability to handle multiple demands and work to meet deadlines.Dependability - Exhibit a reliable and consistent work ethic.Punctuality - arrive on time to work and return on time from breaksAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Ability to be flexible and to adapt to quickly changing conditions.Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch break. This position may occasionally require longer hours when workload or project deadlines require it.TravelThere is no travel required for this position.
