MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The SSVF (Supportive Services for Veteran Families) Intake/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for creating and executing outreach strategies to connect veteran families who are either currently homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness with appropriate support services. This role includes overseeing the intake process for veterans seeking assistance through the SSVF program.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement outreach strategies to identify and engage veteran families needing support services.Conduct initial screenings and intake assessments with veterans seeking assistance.Gather necessary documentation and information to determine eligibility for the SSVF program.Facilitate connections to the VA and other appropriate community resources and services.Establish robust relationships with local veteran organizations, community groups, and service providers.Provide training and support to community partners on veteran issues and eligibility and conduct community presentations to promote awareness of SSVF services.Assist in creating outreach materials, including brochures, flyers, and social media content.Prepare and submit documentation and reports to ensure all activities comply with program requirements, regulations, and standards. Provide detailed reports on efforts and outcomes to senior management.Assume other duties as assigned by the SSVF Program Manager.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to interact with homeless Veterans, develop a trusting relationship, and have a solid understanding of the dynamics of homelessness.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.Familiarity with social media platforms and online outreach tools.Valid driver's license and reliable transportationInsured vehicle with 100/300 bodily injury liability coverageFlexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.Proof of required PPD testEDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public administration, or a related field.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in community engagement, or a related role.Experience working with veterans or military families is highly desirable.CATEGORY:
