About the Position

Reporting to the SVP, Group Head of Claims, the SVP, Head of Casualty Claims will be an active member of the Claims Leadership Team and will be responsible for the overall coordination and consistency of approach to casualty claims in the group. In this dynamic role you will bring an expert, global, overview of casualty claims and facilitate coordination, consistency and understanding of assumed losses and associated issues across the organisation - developing meaningful relationships with stakeholders in all areas of the business and with external partners. In your role you will be expected to become a key contact point for senior leadership across the organisation to support the increased contribution of claims into the overall business process.

Key ResponsibilitiesTo be an active member of the claims leadership team - contributing to the strategic development and direction of the team going forward.Oversight and coordination of Group exposure to major casualty claims - requiring:

Close collaboration with local claims teams and claims leadership.Monitoring of claims activity and support of group exposure analysis.Ownership of communication of any major matters arising.Provision of technical leadership & guidance to members of the global claims team - including shaping and supporting delivery of training opportunities, contribution to individual development reviews with relevant people managers.

Ownership (in conjunction with Claims Leadership team) of client audit/review process - ensuring coordination across balance sheets, continuous review and improvement of methodology and toolset - as well as management of communication of outcomes/insights.Partnership with data & analytics team to support/contribute to the development of claims insights capabilities.Collaborate with Underwriting team(s) and leadership to understand appetite and strategy - and to contribute to development from claims perspective.Partnership with other internal stakeholders including risk, actuarial and legal to ensure the appropriate level of engagement and information sharing.To foster meaningful relationships with external stakeholders (brokers and clients) to support the communication of the group claims strategy and approach

Candidate Qualifications:

A university degree is preferred - with law or business emphasis being advantageous.Minimum 10 years prior relevant industry experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.Deep knowledge of casualty claims from a technical and legal perspective.Eloquent, passionate and with the ability to translate strategic plans into tangible, tactical steps/plans.Ability to engage, influence and partner with others to ensure continual refinement and ultimate delivery of objectives.Leadership Competencies & Values:

The full-time base salary range for this position is $250,000-$275,000 per year; base salary offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position is eligible for bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. This information is provided per the New York City Human Rights Law and applies only to positions in New York City.
