Reporting to the Global Head of Consultant Relations, the primary role of the Analyst or Associate, Consultant Relations is to support Adams Street Partners relationship management and servicing efforts with existing investment consultant relationships in the US.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development and maintenance of world-class relationships with research and field consultants at investment consulting firmsSupport Consultant Relations colleagues in their day-to-day activity needed to generate buy-ratings and effectively position the firm's investment strategies and services with investment consultantsDevelop a clear understanding of the investment consulting industry and institutional investors within the US and Canada, focusing on consultant's manager selection processes, client service models, consultant databases, reporting needs and communication preferencesPreparing due diligence materials, consultant presentations, investor reporting materials, and modeling support for consultant relations marketersDeveloping and organizing internal processes and procedures to ensure consistency, integrity, timeliness, and quality of communications to research and field consultantsExercising a combination of project management and hands-on execution to ensure that important projects are accomplished on deadline and with the highest quality standardsConducting market and prospect research across the region to identify new business opportunitiesMaintaining a system to gather competitive intelligence and monitor industry events and trends, and ensuring internal databases are updated and maintainedManagement and maintenance of the tracking database used to support the identification of prospective clients and monitor the status of investment discussionsCollaborating with teams across the firm to support effective solutions that support marketing objectives, consultant needs, client interests, and satisfies the requirements of a registered investment advisorCompleting special projects related to existing consultant relationships and firmwide strategic initiativesSeeking opportunities to improve efficiencies to support Adams Street's fundraising needs and consultant servicing processesRequirements
Bachelors Degree. CFA and CAIA designation or the intent to pursue those designations are a plus.Minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience in a professional services firm, preferably with an investment management firm, consulting firm, accountancy or investment bank in a research, data management or client service related role with a demonstrated capability of supporting research and analytics.Highest degree of integrity and professionalismStrong problem-solver who demonstrates effective organization skills and follow-throughA high level of discipline and focus. A driven, results-oriented individualKnowledge of private markets and the institutional client and consultant community preferredMust work extremely well within a team-based environment while also being independent and self- motivatedStrong skill-set in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems requiredUnconditionally respectful and courteous towards others.
