Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to guide or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at school intersections and to facilitate safe pedestrian crossing.

Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures and determines how or when to complete tasks. Duties include escorting children across the street or highway while going to and returning from school. Instruct children on the proper street crossing procedures. Report any unsafe acts by children and/or motorists that occur at or around their post to the immediate supervisor and/or Police Department.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must be able to work a split shift/flexible hours, mornings and afternoons.

Must be able to react to and control any emergency situation for the safety of children and work in sometimes extreme weather conditions.

Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
