Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Center Registered Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (36 hours per week) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 1-2 years preferred License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Prior travel experience preferred- Proficiency with EPIC charting system preferred Job Description: - Position is to fill an open night shift role in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Program.- Work in a Level III Trauma Center with a Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center.- Patient mix includes rehabilitation, M/S overflow stroke, neuro, TBI, MS, Parkinson's, small bowels, and revisions.- Patient Ratios: - RN: Day - 1:4-5; Night - 1:7-8 - NA: Day - 1:6-7; Night - 1:7-8- Required skills include I/V pump and insertion, tube feeding pump management, wound care, catheter and trach care, and behavior management.- Support includes a charge nurse (who may have a patient assignment), a unit secretary (days and PMs), hospitalist, and RT available 24/7.- Equipment includes Alaris, Pyxis, with usage of Hoyer lifts, ceiling lifts, and sit-to-stand lifts.- Floating to all other MedSurg areas and ED Holding with a 1:4 ratio is required; travelers are the first to float.- Orientation consists of one 8-hour shift, based on comfort.- Weekend rotation is every third weekend, as needed.- Must adhere to a fatigue policy, limiting work to 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.- Any time-off requests must be approved through the Nurse Manager.- No on-call or holiday expectations.- Required to document pain level before and one hour after administering pain medication, ensuring the pain score aligns with the medication order.
