Level III Trauma CenterMagnet DesignationComprehensive Stroke CenterGeneral InformationBeds: 45Experience: 1-2 yearsFirst-time traveler: prior travel experince preferredPatient Types:Rehabilitation, M/S overflow stroke, neuro, TBI, MS, Parkinson s, small bowels, revisionsPatient Ratios:RN: Day - 1:4-5; Night - 1:7-8NA: Day - 1:6-7; Night - 1:7-8Required Certifications:RN: BLSSkills requiredI/V Pump and I/V insertion/central, PICC and midline catheter care, Tube Feeding Pump, GI/PEG/NG tube management and care, NG tube insertion, Wound Vac/wound care, indwelling catheter insertion and care, trach care and suctioning, laryngectomy care, drain care, management of behavior issuesSupport on the Unit:Charge nurse, may have a patient assignmentUnit secretary days and PM; no overnight coverageHospitalist, 24/7RT, 24/7Phlebotomy to assist with peripheral blood drawsCharting System/Equipment:EPIC - preferredFloating:all other MedSurg areas; ED Holding, with a 1:4 ratioTravelers 1st to floatOrientation:1 X 8 hour shift, based on comfortScheduling:Weekend rotation: every third, as neededCan we approve time off? All RTO to go through NMOn Call: noneHoliday Expectations: noneAAH adheres to a fatigue policy where all staff, including travelers, cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12 hour shiftsOther notes or things you want us to check/verify?Scrub Color: Any - no camo/denimMust document pain level, before and after (1 hour for oral) giving pain medications - The pain score must also meet the pain score with nth medication order i.e. if a patient has a score of 8, the RN cannot give the Tylenol that is ordered for mild 1-3.
