The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.

Responsibilities

Gathers and maintains database along with analyzing company's operational cost.Establishes standard costs of production.Determine and segment fixed and variable costsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecastsDevelop and analyze cost standards to identify inaccuracies and explain variances.Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.Performs account reconciliations.Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management.Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.Advising executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required for this position.2+ years of related experience as a Cost Accountant, working in job costing analysis.2+ years experience with month-end procedures and cut-offs.In-depth understanding of GAAP.Working knowledge and experience with Sage 100 or similar system, ERP background.
