QC Materials Technician

Large, rapidly growing biotech organization is seeking a temporary QC Materials Technician to join their team! This is a great opportunity to join an exciting, and robust company in the Albany area.

Summary: Position designed to support the Quality Control Materials (QCM) department by providing basic assistance to cGMP operation.

What you need to know…

  • Duration: One-year contract with strong potential for extension or permanent hire
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Location: Rensselaer, NY
  • Pay: $21.00-24.00/hr. (DOE)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conducts temperature, environmental, and/or CO2 monitoring
  • Performs/coordinates supplies, 5S organization, and maintenance
  • Completes documentation and reviews logbook data
  • Performs vial labeling activities using automated systems
  • Ensure compliance with SOP's; reports any quality or other anomalies
  • Complies with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements
  • Participates in required training activities
  • Verifies calibration of instruments/devices prior to use
  • Interacts with outside customers or functional peer groups
  • Perform shipping of materials as per requests
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Performs material disposal, material inventory, and temperature checks as required
  • Oversee and maintain appropriate inventory levels of product reference standards and qualified materials.
  • Participates in QC material fills.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires High School diploma/GED; AAS in a science or related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
