Overview

The Pharmacy Inventory Technician is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Procurement Manager with inventory management, maintaining pharmacy workflow and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

The hours for this position are 12p-9p Monday through Friday.Responsibilities

Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance, and accreditation standards.

Communicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organization. Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes.

Demonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and organizational criteria.

Replenishing and rotating stock in the pharmacy/wholesaler areas as needed.

Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all medications, to include monthly expiration date checks.

Manage processes and paperwork regarding expired medication destruction and drug recalls.

Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required.

Order, label, and count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data.

Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities and pricing against invoices, and report stock needs and/or shortages. This will include helping to order and/or process/fulfill backordered product requests.

Must complete at least sufficient hours of CEU to maintain Technician license. Ensure that all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and procedures.

Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.

Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient care.Work with other pharmacy staff regarding ordering of product and organization of pharmacy stock.

Willingness to complete special projects as needed from management

Willingness to work assigned schedule and mandatory overtime in peak times

Qualifications

Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy with a minimum of 1 year experience, PTCB certification and USP 797 experience is a plus.
