The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our legal team, assisting with case preparation, document management, research, and client communication. This position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in insurance law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.Manage case files and document databases, ensuring all materials are accurately filed and easily accessible.Conduct legal research under attorney supervision to gather case-relevant information and resources.Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, meetings, and other case-related appointments.Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other parties involved in cases.Prepare and send out legal packages to clients and opposing counsel.Assist in trial preparation tasks such as organizing exhibits, documents, and evidence.Maintain confidentiality of all client information and case details.Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. (Bachelor's degree preferred)Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal, ideally within an insurance defense or related legal setting.Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and legal management software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
