Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory Care Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7pm - 7am, with every other weekend rotation Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Indiana State Respiratory Care Practitioner License Certifications: - Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred) - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Must-Have: - Good communication and collaborative skills - Experience working with Cerner computerized charting and Accudose medication dispensing system Job Description: - Assess patients for appropriate respiratory therapy and perform necessary procedures, including arterial blood gases analysis and EKGs. - Manage Bipap and CPAP therapies and administer small volume nebulization and ezpap. - Utilize mucus clearance devices effectively for patients across all age groups: newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric. - Operate equipment including V60 Bipap, Vision Bipap, Vapotherm, Servio I ventilator, and Biflex home CPAP units. - Provide support in various hospital departments, covering areas such as ED, med-surg units, ICU, PACU, OR (code help), Cath Lab, pediatrics, nursery, and the mental health unit. - Maintain efficient communication, both verbally and in writing, with all healthcare team members. - Maintain professionalism and adhere to dress code requirements of navy blue scrubs with no facial piercings.
