The Role At Lumen, our human resources team is dedicated to understanding the needs of our employees and determining how best to support and guide them. As a Lead HR Advisor in the Employee & Labor Relations Center of Excellence, you will be tasked with offering support, guidance and solutions to various employee and leadership concerns, which can range from straightforward to highly complex matters. Your responsibilities will include management coaching, performance management, leading and guiding investigations, dispute resolution, change management, influencing solutions based decisions, HR policy interpretation and spearheading continuous improvement projects. Success in this role is characterized by being a self-starter, showing persistence to get the right things done, maintaining a positive attitude and being extremely quick and curious to learn new things, creative and innovative, solution oriented, out of the box thinking and self-accountability. The Main Responsibilities + Serve as a trusted advisor influencer providing candid unbiased and solutions based counsel through an interactive partnership with the business focusing on supporting a dynamic sales employee population or general business unit support + Demonstrates ability to provide thoughtful and empathetic support to employees and leaders actively listening and asking probing questions to accurately diagnose the issues + Guides leaders and business partners on Lumens Core Principles leadership strategies and best practices + Coach leaders to improve leadership abilities relationships among teams/individual and interpersonal communications including conflict resolution positive performance optimization and corrective actions + Provide expert advice and support on employee relations issues + Conduct thorough investigations of complaints ensuring fair and consistent application of policies + Utilize data artificial intelligence tools and other established best practices to inspire and foster continuous impactful improvement + Work in a dynamic evolving high-energy work environment Additional Responsibilities + Demonstrates candor poise professionalism and executive presence to field difficult questions from teammates and leaders ability to discuss difficult issues with candor and kindness + Demonstrates a broad understanding of core HR disciplines such as general HR acumen compensation Employee Relations and HR consulting/advising along with a demonstrated ability to apply it in support of business and people priorities + Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws + Demonstrate a change management mindset through identification of opportunities to enhance the employee experience through education process improvement and innovative ideas offer potential solutions to drive greater stakeholder satisfaction + Utilize data to assist in decision making and recommend opportunities to improve practices + All other duties as assigned What We Look For in a Candidate + Experience in working with Sales segments + Minimum of 6 years of Human Resources experience with a strong understanding of employee relations and employment law + Ability to be resilient and remain professional under pressure when partnering with senior level leaders and complex issues + Expertise in conflict resolution + Understand the nuances of each situation to ask insightful probing questions providing guidance and counsel that results in a positive outcome and impact to organization goals and values + Ability to effectively work independently and identify when to engage additional resources or escalate when appropriate + Ability to hold yourself accountable to set priorities manage multiple responsibilities and deliver against deadlines + Ability to assist peer group to contribute to the overall success of the organization + Expert interpersonal and collaboration skills with experience dealing at all levels within an organization + Strong ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization to guide decisions while acting with integrity + Expert verbal written and presentation communication skills + Exceptional analytical critical thinking problem solving decision making and negotiating skills with the ability to understand and contextualize broad and complex HR issues + Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite + Self-sufficient learner with intellectual curiosity and take initiative for your own growth and development Compensation The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications. Location Based Pay Ranges $80510 - $107340 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD. $84740 - $112980 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY. $88980 - $118630 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI. $93210 - $124280 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA. As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
