Job Details

Position Overview: The Inventory / Cost Accountant will handle inventory accounting, reporting, and analysis for the organization.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Perform period-end close activities for inventory and reserves, including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and roll-forwards
  • Reconcile inventory to the general ledger
  • Ensure that inventory is properly valued in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all inventory related accounts
  • Perform variance analysis, and prepare other financial reports
  • Document processes, control activities, and key controls. Update narratives and SOP’s
  • Define and develop inventory KPI’s and track them regularly
  • Analyze data to look for cost-savings opportunities
  • Analyze and communicate variances to management, with recommended actions
  • Review and analyze inventory adjustments
  • Determine root causes and work with Operations to address potential issues
  • Identify slow-moving and other potential at-risk inventory items and develop action plans to minimize risks
  • Maintain product master
  • Analyze product costs and landed costs. Review product, transportation, storage, and other costs with Operations to identify issues or areas of improvement
  • Oversee cycle counting program and physical inventory observation at internal and external facilities. Ensure controls are functioning in accordance with company policies
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to streamline processes; meet with departmental managers throughout the company to discuss new strategies to improve efficiency
  • Be the primary point of contact for all audit related requirements on inventory related items
  • Work with Internal Audit in periodic testing of internal controls and physical inventory counts
  • Other ad-hoc reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong US GAAP Understanding
  • Inventory Accounting & Analysis experience
  • Food Manufacturing / Distribution industry
  • Advanced Excel: Formulas & Pivot Tables

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cold Storage
  • BOMs
  • CPA / CMA / CPIM
  • Bilingual Mandarin + English
  • Workday ERP
