What you will be doing
- Play a vital role in our hotel's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and organization in our accounting system.
- Report to the Accounting Manager or Controller.
- Process and prepare all invoice deduction notices and payments.
- Verify bank deposits and credit card payments.
- Data entry of financial transactions in general ledger, sales audit module, and Excel files.
- Prepare all accounts payable files, reports, and monthly closings.
- Review, reconcile, and correct discrepancies, maintaining the accuracy of general ledger accounts.
- Research and negotiate vendor payment terms and resolve inquiries.
- Assist with related special projects, as required.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, vendors, etc.
- Maintain current W-9 forms from all vendors and process annual 1099 forms.
- Follow established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
Requirements
Basic reading, writing, and math skills. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This job requires the ability to perform the following: regularly required to talk, hear, and interact with guests. Frequently required to stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Education & Experience
- Degree from a two or four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training.
