Position Title: Specialist Welding
Denver, CO
Minimal overnight travel for occasional training
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The sales position as a subject matter expert in Welding Processes, Applications, and Economics of Welding. This Sales position aims to shorten the sales cycle through Efficiency Analysis, Engineered Cost Reduction, Shield Gas Selection, Weld Training, Technical information, and Automation Selection.
Please note: Although this position requires strong knowledge of Welding Processes and applications, it is NOT a Welder position; it is a Sales Specialist role.
Responsibilities include:
- Growing profitable sales of Welding Processes and Applications to new and existing small to midsize Airgas customers.
- Developing in-depth technical knowledge to match customer needs with Airgas products and services, addressing inquiries, and providing excellent customer service.
- Utilizing Airgas sales tools (Efficiency Analysis, Welding surveys, Welding 201) to promote sales and profitability.
- Traveling with the Advanced Fabrication Welding Process Specialist to customer sites to understand current welding processes and recommend Airgas solutions.
- Providing sales knowledge and marketing materials to promote our products and services.
- Upgrading selling skills and technical knowledge, especially in automation applications and CNC systems.
- Promoting safety by example and actively advocating for a safe work environment.
- Executing special projects and other duties as required.

Are you a MATCH?
Education and Experience:
- Associate's Degree in Welding (AAS) preferred; military welding training, Bachelor's in Engineering, or additional welding experience may substitute.
- Passing the Certified Welding Sales Representative (CWSR) exam by AWS is required after hire.
- Membership in AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME, or SME is highly desirable.
- Prior sales experience preferred; technical sales experience is a plus.
- At least 4 years of welding industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Interest and basic knowledge of welding processes and applications.
- Relationship management and consultative skills.
- Ability to build relationships across all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of TQM, Lean, or Six Sigma principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, with good organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
Pay range: $92K - $112K base plus bonus
Requirements: Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
