Description Summary: As a Certified Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting our Clinical Pharmacists by providing exceptional pharmacy services with a focus on compassion and efficiency. Responsibilities: You will be expected to meet the OneCHRISTUS Competencies standards and be at least 18 years old. In your role, you will perform non-judgmental technical duties under the supervision of a pharmacist. Key duties include: Assisting pharmacists with medication histories. Training new technicians. Preparing drug orders in line with established policies and protocols. Compounding pharmaceuticals accurately, including both sterile and non-sterile products. Maintaining records of controlled substances in accordance with legal and institutional policies. Providing timely and efficient services in the pharmacy department. Maintaining up-to-date licensure and completing competency requirements regularly. Contributing to specialty areas such as the operating room, IV room, or ambulatory care services. Clinical Duties: You will help ensure safe and effective drug therapies, and your responsibilities will include: Interpreting patient medical records and reporting any adverse drug reactions. Supporting the hospital's drug formulary and promoting rational drug therapies. Providing accurate drug information to pharmacy associates. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and conducting clinical interventions. Occupational Hazards: This position may involve exposure to hazardous materials and potential injuries. Proper safety protocols will be emphasized within the department. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred. Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice is required. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred. Completion of an ACPE accredited IV certification program is required, particularly for non-ambulatory care positions.
