January 17, 2025 Department : Administration The Position: This individual will be responsible for the supervision of the Public Transit department, including supervising transit staff, scheduling drivers, coordinating training of employees, conducting performance evaluations, and preparing financial and progress reports to comply with State and Federal programs. Will also assist in completing complex clerical, secretarial and administrative work and provide support to assigned departments under the general direction of the City Manager. Location and Hours This position is located at the City Administration Building at 324 Laramie. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This position is full-time and benefit-earning, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus participation in our matching retirement plan up to 6%. Employees also earn leave time including vacation, sick time, personal leave, and paid holidays. Additional optional benefits are available, including supplemental insurance, wellness benefits, and up to $140/month toward a Health Savings Account for eligible participants. In this Position, you Will: Supervise Public Transit Drivers and Dispatchers, managing staff performance and improvement. Ensure compliance with Federal grant programs. Coordinate office operations of the department; develop and maintain office forms and procedures. Complete a variety of audits and reports, and assist with budget requests. Need to Have Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent with specialized coursework in general office practices such as typing, filing, accounting, and bookkeeping, and four years of increasingly responsible related experience, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to type accurately from clear copy at a rate of 30 words per minute; general knowledge of pertinent Federal, State and local laws; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with employees and community members. Must be able to pass background checks including Driver History, criminal background, sex offender registry and FBI fingerprint check. This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.
