RWJBH is seeking an Anesthesia Technician at the New Brunswick campus.
This is a full-time, day shift position (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM).
Requirements/Qualifications:
The Anesthesia Technician will provide assistance to the licensed Anesthesia providers in various settings by acquiring and preparing the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. The Anesthesia Technician is available to the anesthesia provider during all phases of the anesthetic care of the patient. The Anesthesia Technician demonstrates knowledge in areas such as aseptic technique, universal precautions/isolation precautions, OR surgical attire, laser safety, cell saver, patient positioning and body mechanics, massive transfusion protocol, glucometer operation, proper cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining various anesthesia-related equipment, and stocking anesthesia supplies. Education:
High School diploma with work-related experience and a strong understanding of medical terminology; preferably with 1-2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Candidate must be a team player, maintain a professional attitude, and adhere to departmental code of conduct. Must be able to read printed materials, possess eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, hear conversational voice with or without hearing aid, lift and move heavy objects, and remain calm in critical and emergent situations.
