ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions. Demonstrates operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines, and component parts. Operates aircraft towing equipment. Maintains aircraft hydraulic systems. Utilizes hand tools in aircraft maintenance. Reads, writes, and interprets aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, and specifications. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and systems. Conducts troubleshooting, repair, modifications, and corrosion control of aircraft systems. Services and performs preventive maintenance inspections on ground support equipment. Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA. Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment. Effectively tasks and directs subordinate personnel. Develops and executes maintenance plans to meet aircraft Turn-Around-Time (TAT). Maintains RESET Team Leader Stations and Logbooks for documentation. Inspects and maintains GFE and conducts periodic inventory. Reports aircraft status through written and verbal communication. Manages aircraft parts requisition and distribution. Reports violations of Work Rules, Policies, and Procedures. Complies with Vertex policies and procedures. Operates motor vehicles and special purpose equipment as required. Performs PMCS and inspection documentation on vehicles and tools. Ensures tools and equipment are properly calibrated. Uses current approved methods and publications in job performance. Performs duties of lower classified employees when assigned. Completes and maintains records and reports as required. Demonstrates job procedures and assists in on-the-job training (OJT). Handles hazardous materials in accordance with Vertex and OSHA policies. Utilizes automated equipment and software for aviation maintenance. Provides customer support during launch and recovery when assigned to the flight line. Complies with corporate and installation physical security requirements. Adheres to all OSHA and Safety standards. Records individual hours worked in the company timekeeping system. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Makes appropriate logbook entries and documents work accomplished. Performs aircraft functional checks. Maintains records, including log book forms and parts requests. Uses blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings in job performance. May be required to perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Aviation Structural Mechanic Core. Aviation Structural Mechanic Organizational Level. CH53E Airframes Organizational Maintenance. 6 years’ experience on CH53E aircraft. Must obtain and maintain the required Industrial Security Clearance. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license when required. Must obtain and maintain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government. Must be able to obtain and maintain required clearance for Common Access Card (CAC). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically able to perform job duties. Must work with materials without irritation while wearing required personal protective equipment.
