Demonstrates a strong commitment to seeking justice, preserving community safety and improving the criminal justice system. Advises, leads and assists the District Attorney with legislative and policy priorities, including those before the Colorado State Legislature, Adams County Commission, Broomfield City Council and other city councils, the United States Government and other governing and political bodies throughout the 17 th
Judicial District. Serves as District Attorney’s coordinator and chief strategist on municipal, county, state, and federal policy initiatives and legislative affairs. Serves as liaison to the Colorado State Legislature and the United States Congress on behalf of the District Attorney; builds relationships with members of the State Legislature and other elected officials, congressional staff, city councils, community organizations and other legislative stakeholders; tracks bills and advises the District Attorney on pending legislation; assists District Attorney with legislative and policy goals. Assists, leads and advises the District Attorney, the DA Executive Leadership Team and DA staff on major initiatives, such as the creation of a Family Justice Center and Juvenile Assessment Center and other programs and projects, as assigned. Assists the District Attorney with work on the 17 th
Judicial District Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and its related projects and initiatives. Engages, creates, and nurtures partnerships with community organizations, school districts, non-profits, faith-based organizations and community stakeholders on behalf of the District Attorney. Leads and assists with community outreach activities on behalf of the District Attorney’s Office. Leverages and coordinates the internal skills, connections, and interests of District Attorney Office employees to improve and build up external partnerships. Confers with the District Attorney and Assistant District Attorneys regarding the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Serves on boards, specialty teams and task forces on behalf of the District Attorney, as assigned. Advises the District Attorney on communications, public relations and media related goals and objectives. Coordinates with relevant DA staff on the planning and execution of internal and external projects and special events for the District Attorney’s Office. Supervision-Related Duties:

Knowledge of:
The duties, powers, limitations and authorities of the District Attorney's Office and related law enforcement or criminal justice agencies. The Colorado State Legislature, the Colorado Governor’s Office, the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, the United States Congress and local government. Leadership practices including staff development, administration, organization, and training. Criminal law and the ethical guidelines applicable to prosecutors by professional standards and/or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Ability to:
Represent the District Attorney with professionalism and integrity. Build relationships with elected officials, community leaders and relevant stakeholders. Work in a consulting capacity on media and public policy as needed. Exercise all necessary tact, courtesy and discretion in frequent contact with elected officials, DA Office staff, court personnel, and community members. Establish and maintain positive, supportive and effective working relationships internally and externally. Skills in:
Effectively and persuasively expressing complex ideas orally and in writing. Qualifications for Success:
