Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Program and measure on Brown and Sharpe Table CMM using PC-DMIS
- Program and measure Hexagon Absolute Arm using PC-DMIS
- Schedule and prioritize Metrology requests
- Determine conformance of products using appropriate metrology methods and equipment
- Provide detailed metrology reports according to specifications provided via CAD and/or printed drawings
- Maintain backed-up records of all metrology requests to ensure traceability
- Conduct MSA studies to support PPAP
- Support Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility studies
- Investigate, document, and assist in resolving issues related to product dimensional requirements
- Submit Engineering Change Requests (ECR) related to part dimensional requirements as required
- Maintain the corporate instrument/gage calibration system by calibrating the instruments as needed
- Establish and/or maintain gage uncertainty calculations as required
- Comply with applicable QMS, ISO, AIAG, ASTM, SAE and legal requirements
- Create/revise documents as required for performing measurement tasks and/or training purposes
- Support the lab in maintaining its accreditations
Qualification:
- Ability to operate and program CMM's using PCDMIS
- Experience with Table and Portable (Arm) CMM's
- Ability to read, and correctly interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Proficient in trigonometry and geometry
- Computer literate-proficient with software such and MS Office, CAD, Data Page
- Familiar with ISO and Automotive standards related to measurement practices
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate technical information in English
- Experience with hand held measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators etc.
Required
- 5 years minimum metrology experience
- 5 years minimum experience programming Hexagon CMM's using PCDMIS
- 5 years minimum experience to read, and correctly interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Minimum of an associate's degree in science, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of calibration methods and management
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others
