Job Title: ICU Nurse Neuro, Cardiac, and Ventilator Experience

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced ICU Nurses with expertise in Neuro, Cardiac, and Ventilator patient care. The ideal candidates will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, critical care to patients in a fast-paced Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This position requires advanced clinical knowledge, strong critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity setting.

Travel RNs may be required to float to the Step-Down ICU unit as needed.

• Provide comprehensive, specialized nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological, cardiac, and ventilator support needs.

• Monitor and manage life-support equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps.

• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders while maintaining strict adherence to protocols.

• Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, coordinating with the healthcare team to adjust care plans accordingly.

• Conduct detailed neurological assessments and implement NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) evaluations.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient outcomes.

• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, post-ICU care, and recovery expectations.

• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance with ICU best practices.

• Current RN License in the state of Illinois (IL) Required

• CPR (Basic Life Support - BLS) Required

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Required

• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience with a focus on Neuro, Cardiac, and Ventilator management.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stress ICU environment.

• Previous Step-Down ICU experience is a plus.

• Ability to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Must be able to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods.

• Travel RNs must be flexible and willing to float to Step-Down ICU as required.
