Reporting to the Career Exploration Program Manager, the Temporary Program Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating on team efforts, providing transitional services, and preparing students who are participating in an IEP/504 Plan or have documented disabilities to transition from high school to the workplace. This work is primarily conducted through one to two-week summer training camps across Western WA. The person will communicate regularly with students' transition teams, including students, parents, school staff, School Transition Counselors, and Regional Transition Consultants. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills, be committed to working with diverse populations, and provide excellent customer service to a broad range of cultures. Construction and building trades experience, knowledge of safety training, and experience with power and hand tools are highly desirable, along with the ability to lead youth through construction projects. This temporary position will start on June 2nd, 2025, and conclude on August 30th, 2025. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain and utilize program-based computer systems, write and review reports, and keep accurate records. Instruct students on the safe application and use of construction tools and skills to complete projects and develop their abilities. Work independently across multiple initiatives and projects. Provide comprehensive project support, including meeting and event planning, activity tracking, data entry, and managing concurrent projects. Deliver excellent customer service and develop effective communication processes among stakeholders. Collaborate with team members and other organizations to develop positive working relationships. Coordinate with Regional Transition Consultants, schools, and community organizations to identify students with IEPs, 504 plans, or documented disabilities. Customize activities to meet individual student needs, considering their skills, abilities, preferences, and interests. Prepare written reports for management and funders. Conduct student enrollment and outreach services. Execute the Youth Exploration Program and related activities in line with ANEWs mission and contract requirements. Develop educational activities related to workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and apprenticeship opportunities. Present to RTC, students, and school staff, and provide Apprenticeship 101 sessions. Plan and deliver curriculum, supervise students during workshops, and facilitate material pickup, setup, and environment maintenance. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to economic, racial, and social justice, with understanding of systemic biases. Flexibility and adaptability in a growing non-profit environment. Experience with power and hand tools; OSHA training preferred. Strong communication and administrative skills, with experience managing multiple projects. At least 2 years of experience in collaborative partnerships and working with K-12 student programs. Experience supervising disadvantaged youth, individuals with IEPs, 504 plans, or documented disabilities. Experience providing employment navigation and barrier reduction for adults. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Background checks through Washington State Patrol and WA DSHS. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Proof of citizenship or employment authorization. Valid U.S. Driver's license and proof of insurability, as driving company vehicles is required. Employment continuation depends on performance and funding. Work location: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and satellite sites. Work schedule: MondayFriday, with possible evenings and weekends. Reports to: Career Exploration Program Manager. Salary: Temporary, non-exempt, starting at $32.60$34.60 hourly, paid twice monthly. Funding-dependent continuation.
