We are based in Rockville, MD, with an additional office in Baltimore, MD and have an excellent team of employees who are responsible for the design, installation, and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen hood/duct systems. We have an extensive customer base with over 10,000 fire systems that we perform recurring inspection and repair services throughout the region. About the Opportunity
The Service Operations Supervisor to oversee service scheduling and shop operations. This role ensures efficient dispatching of technicians, shop organization, and operational workflow to support the operations of the Baltimore branch location. The ideal candidate has experience in skilled trade commercial service operations, scheduling, inventory management, and technician workflow optimization.
Compensation
This is a salaries position based on experience. Pay is negotiable.

Job Duties
Service Scheduling & Dispatch
Manage and coordinate daily schedules for fire protection technicians performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
Supervise Scheduling Coordinators and Shop Personnel.
Assign jobs based on technician skill set (fire alarms, sprinklers, suppression, extinguishers, etc.), location, and urgency.
Adjust scheduling dynamically for fire system emergencies, compliance-driven deadlines, and customer priorities.
Work closely with dispatchers, project managers, department managers and field supervisors to ensure efficient service delivery.
Shop Operations & Inventory Management
Oversee shop operations, ensuring that fire system components, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and ready for service jobs.
Manage inventory levels of fire sprinkler, kitchen fire suppression, suppression system components, alarms, extinguishers, and spare parts, coordinating with vendors for restocking.
Track and manage shop operations to perform hydrostatic testing, fire extinguisher maintenance and recharges, and various cylinder testing and recharging.
Implement shop workflow improvements to optimize efficiency and organization.
Technician & Staff Coordination
Supervise fire protection service technicians and shop personnel, ensuring adherence to NFPA codes, OSHA safety regulations, and company policies.
Assist in training new employees and ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and service protocols.
Track technician productivity and job completion rates, making adjustments to maximize efficiency.
Customer & Service Coordination
Act as a liaison between customers, technicians, department managers, and office staff to ensure smooth service execution.
Address scheduling conflicts, emergency service requests, and compliance-driven service deadlines.
Ensure all jobs are completed on time, meet NFPA standards, and comply with local fire codes.
Compliance & Safety Oversight
Enforce compliance with NFPA codes (NFPA 10, 13, 25, 72, etc.), OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
Conduct safety meetings and shop inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
Monitor and maintain fire protection service vehicles for licensing, inspections, and operational readiness.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Track and analyze service KPIs, including technician efficiency, inspection completion rates, and emergency response times.
Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency in scheduling and shop operations.
Report operational performance metrics to upper management and recommend improvements.
Cross-Departmental Coordination
Work with procurement teams to ensure materials and parts availability for upcoming jobs.
Collaborate with project managers, department managers, field supervisors, and compliance teams to align service operations with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in fire protection service operations or other skilled trades, scheduling, or dispatching.
Experience managing shop inventory, tools, and equipment for commercial service skilled trade companies.
Familiarity with commercial service management software (e.g., ServiceTrade, Inspect Point, BuildingReports, ServiceTitan).
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills to interact with technicians, management, and customers.
Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a fire protection company or other skilled trade commercial service company.
