Abacus Technology is seeking a HR/Benefits Coordinator to support the Corporate HR team in performing the day-to-day functions for a multi-national and international government contracting firm. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to the Human Resources department from new hire setup, benefits and wellness administration, leave and disability program coordination, and COBRA benefits.
- Manage onboarding life cycle from creating and distributing new hire packets, conducting new hire and benefit orientations, updating and entering HR and Benefits data into ADP Workforce Now, and tracking Form I-9s and post-hire checklists.
- Administer benefits programs including disability, leave and company health and wellness program working closely with benefit vendors to facilitate claims or promote events, which can include flu-shots, wellness seminars or challenges.
- Serve as point of contact to staff for general HR and benefits related questions, researching and resolving issues working with insurance carriers and any claims processing.
- Review, process and audit HR and Benefits enrollment requests/changes and data at the completion of each payroll cycle.
- Maintain and update all personnel forms and files as well as benefits program materials such as forms and informational flyers.
- Handle employment verifications and process monthly benefits invoices.
- Interact regularly with Abacus program managers, cost center managers, and employees working closely with other corporate departments to provide the best possible support.
- Assist with benefits open enrollment and ad hoc HR tasks as needed.
Qualifications
3-4 years’ experience in an HR or Benefits role. Bachelor’s degree in a human resources or related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred. Well-versed in ADP Workforce Now, reporting and analyzing employee data. Must have excellent attention to detail, superior organizational and customer service skills, and exercise confidentiality with sensitive employment data and issues. Able to work independently and be a team player. Must be self-motivated to see projects through to completion. Excellent attitude and willingness to grow and develop in HR role. Proficient in MS Office suite. Good understanding of state and federal employment law and regulations, highly desirable. Must be a US citizen.
