Cloud Automation Engineer
Contract Term: 2-month contract with potential extension based on budget review (expected update by end of April).
$65/hr
Location: Hybrid in Sunnyvale, CA (onsite 2 days per week - Monday & Friday).
Role Overview:
Our client's Cloud team is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to develop and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python or Go development, strong cloud expertise (Azure or GCP), and experience working in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments. This role involves working with internal DevOps tooling and services (CI/CD), cloud API development, and infrastructure automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deploy cloud infrastructure solutions in Azure or GCP. Work with internal proprietary DevOps tooling and services (CI/CD). Manage and optimize cloud services, including scaling CPU power and RAM as needed. Build, adjust, and optimize Cloud APIs (developed in Go/Python). Implement and refine infrastructure automation using Terraform (preferred) or Ansible. Work on both custom module/template development and execution of existing infrastructure scripts. Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Required Skills & Experience:
Extensive Python or Go development experience (backend-focused). Strong cloud experience with Azure or GCP (established cloud expertise required). Experience with DevOps CI/CD tooling and services. Cloud API development experience (preferably in Go/Python). Terraform expertise is a plus (custom module/template development from scratch). Experience working in hybrid on-prem and cloud environments. Nice-to-Have Skills:
Ansible experience as an alternative to Terraform. Previous experience working in large-scale, globally distributed teams. Work Environment:
Collaborative team with members across the globe. Majority of the team is based in Bentonville and Sunnyvale. Interview Process:

Technical Q&A interview. Coding assessment.
