Vice President of Construction
to take full ownership of regional construction delivery for a global
data centre developer . This is a key executive leadership role requiring a balance of technical competence, strategic foresight, and the ability to drive
business growth through hiring and client development . Our client delivers hyperscale and enterprise-level data centre campuses across the United States. With strong backing, a growing portfolio, and a forward-thinking leadership team, they are investing in regional expansion and require a VP who can deliver projects to the highest standards—on time and on budget—while also scaling the business from the inside out. The Role The Vice President of Construction will oversee all aspects of
data centre project execution
across active and emerging markets in North America, with a primary focus on the Eastern and Central US. You will lead regional construction teams and ensure excellence in delivery, but critically, you'll also be tasked with
growing internal capability by hiring new team members
and ensuring continuity of work for them by
securing additional projects from both new and existing clients . This position may be based
anywhere in the Eastern United States . While site visits and travel are required, this is a well-structured role with
reasonable travel expectations (c. 30–50%) . Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of construction delivery for large-scale, mission-critical
data centre campuses , including pre-construction, build, commissioning, and closeout. Hire and develop regional construction teams , ensuring appropriate skill levels and capacity to match projected growth. Actively contribute to
business development efforts , generating new client relationships and converting opportunities into deliverable workstreams. Manage CAPEX budgets, oversee commercial controls, and report regularly on project financial performance. Coordinate across internal stakeholders including development, sales, finance, and operations to ensure strategic alignment. Engage directly with clients to build long-term partnerships and ensure repeat business. Manage contractors, vendors, and supply chains to uphold standards, timelines, and contractual obligations. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring robust delivery processes and clear escalation pathways. Integrate lessons learned and promote continuous improvement across all projects and teams. Requirements Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 15–20 years of experience in construction leadership, with a
minimum of 5 years in the data centre sector . Strong understanding of
CSA
(Civil, Structural, Architectural) and
MEP
(Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, specific to data centre builds. Proven experience in
scaling construction operations
through recruitment and workload expansion. Demonstrable ability to
generate work
through existing client relationships or direct business development. Track record of delivering
hyperscale or enterprise-level
