We are seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join a dynamic team in Pasadena, Texas. What You’ll Do
The Instrumentation Engineer will drive reliability and performance in a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and HDA manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities include managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, leading instrumentation and control system projects, and troubleshooting complex issues.This role requires hands-on involvement in failure analysis, root cause assessments, and the implementation of long-term solutions. You will also oversee documentation updates, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring compliance with safety standards and responding to emergencies are critical aspects of this position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation and control systems.
- Lead equipment reliability improvements, addressing sensors, control valves, and analyzer systems.
- Initiate and oversee engineering projects to enhance plant automation and optimization.
- Conduct root cause analyses to improve reliability and prevent future failures.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety standards.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Controls/Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in a plant environment (petrochemical industry preferred).
- Experience with DCS, PLCs, and industrial control systems (familiarity with Rosemount, Honeywell, Emerson, and Vega is a plus).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and engineering tools.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and work overtime when required.
