The Junior Programmer program is set-up to transition a Junior Programmer into a Programmer / Analyst at CU*Answers. The Junior Programmer will work to expand their programming knowledge through programming applications on the iSeries. Primary language includes: DDL, DDS, CLLE, RPGLE, RPG Free and SQL on the iSeries. They will be responsible to code and test their assigned projects. As the employee progresses, they will receive exposure to more advanced programs and will be added to the daily support group for the Client Service department and credit union clients. Essential Job Functions
Succession through the 3 phases below are expected to be completed in no more than 24 months from the hire date. 1. Phase 1: a. Perform coding and testing using DDL, DDS, CLLE, RPGLE, RPG Free and SQL on the iSeries. b. Individual is required to follow all programming standards in place. 2. Phase 2: a. Additional programming which may include: i. Interface with third-party vendors (ATM processors, insurance companies, credit bureaus, etc.) ii. Fixes or floods requested by our credit union clients. 3. Phase 3: a. Be added to the Programming Support Hunt group to research problems and questions from Client Service Representatives and credit union personnel. 4. Additional job functions: a. Keep up to date on the latest OS version, programming language levels and other industry releases. b. Maintain a positive contribution as a member of the Programming Team and complete all tasks assigned by management to meet team objectives. Job Qualifications
1. High school graduate or equivalent required. 2. Currently enrolled or have taken programming classes. 3. Ability to work independently. 4. Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data. 5. Strong organizational skills.
