Director of Sales – Spotsylvania County, Virginia
role. In this position, the Director of Sales is responsible for ensuring optimum operation of the Sales, Catering and Conference Services Departments. They are responsible for the direct sales activities and production at the property level. Primary objectives are account solicitation, development of group accounts and sales production, training, and coaching of salespeople. You would be responsible for working in conjunction with the conference services and catering teams to operate in a “for-profit” environment. A Kalahari DOS owns a market and is also responsible for their own goals but is not responsible for marketing or transient rate. Required Qualifications: Five years of hotel sales management experience in a large (500+ rooms) property with extensive meeting space. Experience and proven success in developing and closing hotel group business. Experience in leading teams. Have a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort. Understanding the pulse of the meetings and conventions business in Virginia and Washington D.C. markets. Ability to think independently and offer creative solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Four-year bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, business, or finance. Hotel pre-opening experience.
