Director of Waterpark
position. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the administration, operation, and direct management necessary to achieve stated objectives in guest/associate safety, sanitation/cleanliness, equipment safety/repairs, sales/profitability, costs, employee retention, and guest service satisfaction of all Resort venues located in the indoor and outdoor waterpark. This is an exempt full-time position, with various work hours and days, based on business needs. This position regularly requires evening and weekend work. Requirements
We do require that you have a background consisting of a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a leader in a large water park or recreational facility. Previous lifeguard experience required, along with extensive knowledge of leisure activities, commercial recreation, and/or large waterpark in a “for profit” setting. Significant experience with guest services and conflict resolution. Experience with scheduling and managing labor budget. Experience with hiring & retention initiatives. Basic knowledge of Human Resource law and function. Physical Demands
You must have the ability to pass Kalahari’s lifeguard certification. Must be able to frequently move throughout the waterpark. Must be able to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually elevated. Preferred Requirements
Certified Pool Operator Certification. P&L Statement knowledge. Bachelor’s degree in business management, Sports and Recreation, Hotel/Resort Management or related area from a four-year college or university preferred.
