Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become a vital part of our dynamic healthcare team. ABOUT BAPTIST HEALTH URGENT CARE: Baptist Health Urgent Care is an affiliate of Urgent Team, with 20 convenient locations across Arkansas. We are committed to providing quality and affordable family healthcare. Our walk-in services include treatments for various injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care, operating seven days a week. JOB SUMMARY: The LPN will play a crucial role by greeting patients, managing patient files, and providing support to both patients and healthcare staff. Full-time positions follow a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, which includes 12-hour shifts on weekdays and every other weekend. PRN team members work on an as-needed basis. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities listed below highlight the expectations for this role but are not exhaustive: Welcome patients and assist them in preparing for examinations or procedures. Record health history and identify any abnormal conditions for the physician's review. Guide patients on collecting necessary samples and tests while obtaining vital signs. Support physicians or mid-level practitioners during examinations and treatments. Administer prescribed medications and injections as directed. Accurately document and relay patient conditions and treatment responses to medical staff. Maintain updated and accurate patient records and files. Assist with scheduling tests, treatments, and referrals. Collect, document, and deliver lab specimens while obtaining test results. Notify patients of test results and available follow-up appointments. Ensure cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment rooms. Adhere strictly to infection control policies. Instruct patients and their families on medications, treatment plans, and discharge information. Support providers during physical examinations and prepare necessary materials. Manage pharmacy interactions for prescription orders and patient notifications. Oversee the inventory of medications and medical supplies. Screen telephone calls and triage patients to facilitate efficient departmental flow. WHAT'S REQUIRED? - Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program. - A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred. - Must possess a valid LPN license in accordance with state regulations.
