ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Level III Fire Alarm & Suppression Technician with a strong commitment to customer service and life safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in the fire protection industry and be capable of performing inspections, installations, testing, servicing, and repairs of fire alarm systems as well as engineered and pre-engineered suppression systems. This position ensures compliance with applicable codes, standards, manufacturer requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations. This is a fast-paced and high-visibility role within the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Install, inspect, and test fire alarm and suppression systems according to NFPA standards and other applicable regulations
- Perform programming, testing, final inspections, customer training, and generate as-built drawings
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm and engineered/pre-engineered suppression systems
- Record and document all work, including inspections, repairs, and recommendations
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal team members to ensure proper follow-up and service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service vehicle
- Keep tools and equipment in good working order and ensure safe work practices
- Assess customer sites for potential additional service or equipment needs
- Comply with all safety protocols and company policies
- Respond to emergency calls either on-site or remotely
- Communicate any system deficiencies to the customer and explain issues and solutions
- Must be available for occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work based on location needs
- Must be comfortable working at heights, on ladders or lifts, and in confined spaces
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire detection and signaling systems
- At least 33 months specifically in fire alarm systems, covering installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, sales, project management, and/or technical estimating
- Additional experience should include fieldwork, team leadership, and at least one year in a technical management role
- Ohio Fire Alarm License
- Up to 3 months of closely related experience may be considered
- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Proficiency with computers and software including Windows, Word, Outlook, Apple iOS, Android, and industry-specific tools
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Valid U.S. driver’s license required
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
- 5–10 years of experience working with fire alarm and suppression systems
- Holds a current fire protection license in the applicable state
- Experience with electrical wiring and circuitry is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Overtime may be required; hours may vary depending on location
- Work environments may include exposure to heat, cold, and dust
- Occasional overnight travel may be necessary
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent lifting, carrying, ladder use, wire pulling, and physical activity such as stooping, kneeling, and working overhead
- Driving is required and varies by assignment
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory per company safety standards

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
