Job Overview – Senior Mechanical Engineer
Compensation: $140,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Join our construction client as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Boston, MA, leading MEP design for large-scale airport terminals and aviation infrastructure. This role requires a PE license and deep experience in HVAC and mechanical systems for aviation projects. You’ll oversee design teams, review and stamp drawings, and ensure compliance with FAA standards, local codes, and client requirements.
Responsibilities as the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
Project Leadership:
Lead the design and coordination of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for aviation terminal projects. Technical Oversight:
Review, approve, and stamp mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure code compliance and design integrity. Client Collaboration:
Interface with airport authorities, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project goals and milestones. Quality & Compliance:
Ensure designs meet FAA guidelines, ASHRAE standards, and local mechanical codes for large-scale transportation facilities. Team Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with internal design teams across multiple projects. Qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Engineer: Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Licensure:
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Experience:
10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including at least 5 years in aviation terminal or transportation facility design (MEP systems only). Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software (such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP), with familiarity in FAA standards. Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to deliver results under tight timelines in a high-stakes environment. Application Notice:
