required : A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. A Professional Engineering License in Civil (PE) and Structural Engineering (SE) in State of Washington; or licensed as a PE and SE in another state with the ability to obtain licensure in Washington State within six (6) months of employment. Two (2) years of experience as a Bridge Engineer 5; or eight (8) years of bridge design and project management experience using AASHTO and WSDOT standards. Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD Seismic Bridge Design. Proficiency in structural design and analysis. Strong oral and written communication skills. It is
preferred
that qualified candidates also have: A Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Experience with the WSDOT Bridge Design Manual, WSDOT Standard Specifications and WSDOT Special Provisions. Experience in bridge construction, bridge inspection, load rating, or as a Bridge Technical Advisor to WSDOT Bridge Construction projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel programs. Experience in construction and/or inspection of transportation structures. Experience with the Design Build method of project delivery, such as developing Requests for Proposal (RFP) or Proposals. Experience with leadership and project management. Ability to communicate the complex structural analysis and design issues in simple, understandable language, both verbally and in writing.

Important Notes This position requires a Structural Engineers License issued by the State of Washington. License holders from other states will be expected to obtain a WA State SE license within six (6) months of appointment. This position offers flexible/hybrid remote work options. This recruitment may also be used to fill additional positions per business needs. In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position. For union-represented positions, more information on other forms of compensation can be found in the applicable
Collective Bargaining Agreements . Information on other compensation types for non-represented positions can be found in
Chapter 357-28
