Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Management/Leadership Functions:
- Direct and manage third party providers to ensure digital products and services are operating as expected.
- Manage projects related to current digital applications and project lifecycle management.
- Coordinates the annual budget for new digital purchases and upgrades.
- Leads the Digital Strategy committee, coordinating meeting topics and initiatives.
- Leads the Secure Now committee, ensuring the proper risk and friction levels of the service are maintained for best member experience.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for digital service issues and matrix manages other IT staff to ensure timely resolution.
Project Management:
- Responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating complex projects or phases of large projects by estimating resource needs, and planning, scheduling, and working with management to assign staff in order to meet completion dates.
- Ensure that project is processed on schedule, within specifications and within budget.
- Coordinate with management and staff the implementation of new technologies and products.
- Provides leadership with ongoing project statuses. Assists the organization in change management processes.
- Acts as business liaison and primary contact for third party vendors associated with assigned projects.
Technological Responsibilities:
- Advanced scripting, and reporting using sophisticated tools such as Java, Crystal, SQL, and queries.
- Direct and coordinate the testing of new releases and upgrades pertaining to digital applications. Organize and manage the decision process of new enhancements found in new releases or upgrades.
- Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and end user mindsets.
- Develop, encourage, and trains members of the IT team to ensure cross training happens as is appropriate. Ensures the team obtains and maintains a thorough knowledge of the capabilities and options of the digital applications.
- Manage workflow within the digital group to include triage, escalation and communication.
- Provide top tier support on issues within digital. In addition, this position will review tickets to identify trends and areas of focus to improve overall credit union efficiency and productivity in the area of digital products.
- Coordinate the digital services portion of the annual execution of disaster recovery testing; provide support for all audit & assessment activities.
- Conduct periodic analysis of infrastructure and application performance and contributes to the annual IT strategic plan.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Identifies potential digital strategy risks that APGFCU faces and develops alternative plans and actions to assure continuity of operations in the event of a disaster.
- Remains abreast of current and upcoming digital technology and investigates new concepts related to digital strategy
- Provides recommendations for the annual IT Strategic Plan.
- Work in conjunction with other IT team members to implement controls to maintain data security in keeping with APGFCUs security policies.
Operations Support:
- Leads cross-functional Business Application Support personnel in the ongoing design and implementation of said projects.
- Requires knowledge in operational procedures and policies and detailed technical involvement on the software application side.
- Responsible for ensuring project completion including updating policies and procedures in relation to assigned product and technology projects.
- Build project teams, made up of individuals from pertinent departments and vendors, leading to the efficient implementation of desired services, systems, and enhancements.
Professional Development:
- Remain current with developments in the information technology field and their potential impact on the credit union's present and future needs.
- Continue technical professional development through seminars and workshops, membership in technical and professional organizations, and through reading technical publications and journals.
- Network with others in the credit union industry and interface with vendors.
- Maintain certification requirements current and work towards acquiring new certifications as required.
Other:
- Adheres to the established change management and turnover log procedures.
- Must be available to work after hours.
- Works effectively in a matrix organized workplace.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
ADDITIONAL: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable).
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. Experience can be credited in lieu of education. Continued education as plus.
EXPERIENCE: Five to ten years' experience working with systems administration with three to five years in a financial institution required. Experience analyzing and implementing digital application configurations, system support, operational support, on-call Management, scripting and report writing/data interrogation preferred. Experiences in analyzing, developing and implementing business performance solutions on large scale business strategies. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access), Active Directory, and Windows networking required. High proficiency in PC related skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must have proven track record managing multiple projects using MS Project. Ability to cultivate strong collaborative working relationships and contacts within work group, across other company functions and with external organizations. Ability to work in fast paced environment, deliver quickly and adapt to changing demands. Proven ability to influence others and drive meaningful change results. Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills. Extensive knowledge of financial institution operations with an emphasis on innovative delivery systems. Requires the initiative to work both independently and as part of a team.
