Position Summary
The OT Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of operational technology systems that control and monitor power generation facilities and Remote Operations Centers (ROC). This role is critical to ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the company's OT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on system availability, and adherence to regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP. The OT Systems Administrator will collaborate closely with IT, Cybersecurity, and plant operations to support and enhance industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA/DCS environments across various sites and our two ROCs.
Position Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain OT systems, including servers, storage, switches, and HMI hardware and software. Monitor OT network performance and uptime, identifying potential issues and implementing proactive solutions. Perform regular backups, patches, and updates to OT systems to ensure system integrity and security compliance. Ensure cybersecurity standards and controls are applied and maintained for the OT environment, with focus on NERC CIP compliance for medium- and low-impact sites. Safeguard network access and perform continuous logging and monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of OT systems. Promptly respond to system outages and incidents, both onsite and remote, to minimize downtime and disruption to operations. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues within the OT environment, collaborating with IT and operations teams as needed. Assist with integration projects involving OT systems and enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance, company policies, and industry best practices. Plan and implement OT system upgrades, including hardware, software, and network components, to improve system functionality and security. Maintain thorough documentation of OT systems, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Create reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and compliance metrics. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Cybersecurity, engineering, and plant operations, to enhance OT systems' performance and security. Provide training and support to operations staff to ensure proper system usage and adherence to security policies. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience. 3-5 years of experience administering OT or ICS systems in an industrial or critical infrastructure environment. Hands-on experience with system design and deployment. Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles. Proficiency in maintaining Windows server environments. Solid understanding of network architecture and concepts. Skilled in maintaining and optimizing virtualization technologies in OT environments. Strong aptitude for diagnosing and troubleshooting both hardware and software to ensure operational reliability. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Meticulous in monitoring, detecting, and responding to operations technology needs, ensuring timely identification of issues and effective resolutions to maintain system reliability, performance, and security. Strong analytical skills to assess risks, respond to incidents, evaluate potential threats, and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact and enhance system resilience. Clear and effective communicator. US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa. Candidate must also pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check and pre-employment drug screen. Desired Qualifications
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, GICSP, SSCP) are a plus. Experience with predictive analytics, remote monitoring, and automation in an OT setting. AVEVA PI, PI Vision, and Asset Framework a plus. Familiarity with enterprise-level IT/OT convergence strategies and software deployment practices.
