A Typical Day
The
Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Litigation
will manage nationwide federal and state court litigation involving the Pennymac family of companies and their officers, directors and employees. This position will work closely with outside counsel on mortgage- and employment-related litigation and settlement strategy, review pleadings and motions, approve attorney invoices, prepare reporting, manage litigation assistants, and interact with all levels of management within the organization. The
Senior VP, Associate General Counsel, Litigation
will: Select and manage outside counsel, review and revise pleadings and motions, work with counsel and in-house management on litigation and settlement strategy, assist with discovery and preparation for trials, arbitrations and mediations, and review appellate briefs. Manage junior attorneys and litigation specialists performing paralegal functions. Regularly update electronic case files. Timely review and approve law firm invoices. Manage litigation department expenses. Prepare reporting for senior management, as well as for investors, insurers, lenders, regulators, and for capital market transactions. Interact with all levels of management within the organization. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Demonstrate behaviors that align with the organization’s accountable, reliable and ethical values and principles.
What You’ll Bring
Must be a licensed attorney, preferably in CA or TX. 10+ years of relevant work experience. Must have significant experience in business litigation, preferably mortgage servicing-related defense litigation. Knowledge of labor and employment law is preferred. Experience with managing attorneys and paralegals is preferred. Must have a general understanding of civil litigation procedures and local rules for state and federal courts. Class action and trial experience is preferred. Self-starter with an ability to work independently and interact professionally with attorneys and all levels of management.

Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below: Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role. Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role. Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role. Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
