CareSTL Health is seeking a Pathologist/Director of Laboratory who possesses the skill-set to provide overall direction for the Clinical Laboratory, in accordance with the Federal Regulations governing clinical laboratories.
Job Duties:
Ensures testing systems provide quality laboratory services across the path of work-flow (for all phases of testing pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phases)
Ensures the laboratory meets CLIA requirements for appropriate level of testing complexity as performed
Ensures the laboratory personnel are performing the test methods as required to obtain accurate and reliable results
Ensures the physical and environmental conditions of the laboratory are adequate and appropriate for the testing performed and the environment for employees is safe from physical, chemical, and biological hazards; also ensuring safety and biohazard requirements are followed
Ensures technical consultant/manager is available to provide day-to-day supervision for all testing personnel and reporting of test results as well as provide on-site supervision for specific minimally qualified testing personnel when they are performing high complexity testing
Ensures the laboratory is enrolled in an approved proficiency testing (PT) program
Ensures the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system
Ensures corrective actions are taken and documented whenever significant deviations from the laboratory's established performance characteristics are identified and patient test results are reported only when the system is functioning properly
Education:
Board certified by the American Board of Pathology (ABP)
required ; ABP certification in both Anatomical Pathology (sub-division of Cytopathology) and Clinical Pathology
preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of related supervisory experience
required ; Supervisory experience in Cytopathology and/or Clinical Pathology
preferred .
Experience as a Medical Technologist Supervisor that meets CLIA requirements for technical supervisors
required
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Copy of Board Certification by the ABP, including specialties
required
Copy of Missouri State Board Medical License
Current Registration with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry
Annual PPD or Chest X-Ray
Proof of meeting criteria for Meaningful Use of the Electronic Health Record
Additional Information:
Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
