Job Title: Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Co-Founder & COO to join our founding team and lead the operational execution of our ambitious vision.

Role Overview:

As the Co-Founder & COO, you will be instrumental in transforming PawaStats’ vision into reality. You will drive the operational strategy, scale our business, and oversee day-to-day operations while collaborating closely with our technical and marketing teams. Your leadership will be key in building robust processes, securing strategic partnerships & fundraising, managing budgets, and ensuring the smooth execution of our growth initiatives—both in the US and across emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

• Develop and implement operational strategies and processes that support rapid growth and scalability.
• Oversee daily operations across product development, marketing, sales, and customer success, ensuring cross-functional collaboration.
• Establish performance metrics (KPIs, OKRs) and use data-driven insights to optimize operational efficiency.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

• Work alongside the CEO and founding team to refine PawaStats’ vision, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy.
• Drive execution of strategic initiatives, including market expansion, product enhancements, and operational improvements.

Fundraising & Investor Relations:

• Play a key role in investor readiness by preparing operational plans and strategic proposals for funding rounds.
• Leverage your network to facilitate introductions to potential investors, partners, and stakeholders.

Partnership & Ecosystem Development:

• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key players in the tech ecosystem, both in the US and internationally.
• Develop collaborative relationships with local SMB associations, tech incubators, and industry influencers, particularly in emerging markets.

Team Building & Leadership:

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing operational team that aligns with our company culture.
• Foster an environment of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all functions.

Financial Oversight:

• Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and financial planning to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Implement financial controls and reporting mechanisms to monitor business performance and operational costs.

Qualifications:

• MBA from a top-tier business school with a strong academic record.
• Minimum of 5 years of senior operational experience in tech startups or high-growth companies.
• Demonstrated track record of scaling operations, optimizing processes, and driving strategic initiatives in a dynamic environment.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent strategic and analytical thinking, with proven ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; able to build relationships with investors, partners, and team members.
• Familiarity with AI, data analytics, and digital transformation trends.
• Experience in global market expansion, particularly in emerging markets, is highly desirable.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and a commitment to empowering African SMBs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing market dynamics.
