As a PLA principal, you’ll lead with purpose, set a bold vision for excellence, and cultivate a school culture where scholars thrive and staff grow. You’ll be entrusted with shaping the academic and cultural foundation of your campus—coaching teachers in real time, analyzing data to drive results, and ensuring every scholar is seen, supported, and successful. The Details: Key Deliverables: 10% increase in Math proficiency 10% increase in ELA proficiency 90% Staff Retention 95% Average Daily Attendance 90% Student Persistence 80% or higher stakeholder satisfaction Meeting annual enrollment goals Experience and Education Requirements: Current Administrators License Proven success as an instructional leader Experience in turnaround work Entrepreneurial, positive problem solver with the ability to see opportunity in challenges Clear judgment, a mature interpersonal style, and the ability to drive collaborative decision-making processes. The Campus: Hope Community PCS - Tolson is a public charter school in Washington, D.C. that was founded in 2006 and recently joined the PLA network in 2022. We serve about 250 scholars from PK - 8th grade with a school population that is reflective of the strength and diversity of the community in which we are privileged to serve. We pride ourselves on our STEAM-focused learning that results in scholars taking risks, engaging in learning, and having ownership of their education. Our vision is centered on having a growth mindset to encourage our scholars to develop their immense potential and continue to be active contributors to their communities. We believe that by providing a world-class education in an empowering school environment, all scholars are able to flourish and achieve more than they thought possible. Compensation and benefits: PLA School Leaders receive a base salary that is competitively aligned to the market.
